Facilities

Hostel

The University has one Boys‟ Hostel viz. Maharana Pratap Boys‟ Hostel and one Girls Hostel viz Rani Laxmi Bai Girls‟ Hostel. The students may apply for the Hostel separately

Remedial Coaching Centre

The University has established University Centre for Competitive Examinations. The primary aim of the Centre is to prepare students for entry to various services at State and Central level. The Scheme of UGC is primarily meant for students belonging to SC/ST/Minorities/OBC (non- creamy layer). However, the poor students belonging to General Category may also be admitted. The Coaching Classes are held on self finance basis. The SC/ST students of Haryana may not be charged any kind of fee.

Directorate of Sports

In order to harness the potential of the youth and promoting sports in the University, creation of excellent infrastructure including two ultra modern Gymnasium Halls for all indoor activities is available for the benefit of students and staff. The Directorate organizes various inter-departmental and inter-college tournaments for men and women players and coaching camps for students. He also deputes the teams for participation in inter-university tournaments and national games.

Health Care Facilities

To cater to the primary health care needs, the Community Primary Health Center is established nearby by the Government of Haryana. At the First Aid center in University, staff is available as per requirement in the campus. A Cancer Hospital with all modern facilities is also working in the village Meerpur.

University Food Court

University Food Court/cafeteria is also available in the University for the students and staff. The main attractions of this Food Court are hygenie conditions, neat and clean sitting area, healthy food and quick services.

National Service Scheme

The NSS units of Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur are involved in inculcating the feelings of empathy and self extension among students. The units work with the objective to uphold and promote the values of communal harmony, patriotism and national integration among students as  well as community members through various NSS activities. The motto of the National Service
Scheme (NSS) is “Not Me, But You”. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless services and appreciate the other person‟s point of view. It shows consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines the fact that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole.

Youth Red Cross

Youth Red Cross of Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur is committed to nudge youth to participate in the events meant for humanitarian values. Health, service and friendship are the basic premises of YRC. Moreover, YRC of IGU is to serve the society by mobilizing the young energy. It acts through YRC volunteers i.e. students of the University. Various programmes such as Orientation programmes for YRC volunteers, Blood Donation camps, Road Safety awareness campaign,Environment related awareness programmes, First Aid Training etc. were mainly organized.

University Guest House

The University Guest House is situated on the campus adjacent to the Dr. Mangal Sain Shikshak Awasiya Parishar. The University established a guest house to provide accommodation facilities primarily to official guests of the IGU on visit to the University in connection with the
meetings/Seminars/Conferences/Workshops/Training Programmes etc. It shall not be used for any commercial purpose and organizing any social, cultural and any type of function etc. on its premises.
To begin with, the Guest House has started with four rooms with modest facilities, one lawn, pantry house/ kitchen and dining hall. Continuous efforts are being taken to bring it to a standard ensuring all necessary facilities.
